Proposed Amendments to the ORCP
On September 26, 2020, the Council on Court Procedures voted to publish for public comment proposed amendments to five Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure (Rule 15, Rule 21, Rule 27, Rule 31, and Rule 55). After a public comment period, the Council then voted on whether to promulgate those amendments.
Promulgated Amendments to the ORCP
On December 12, 2020, the Council voted to promulgate amendments to five of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure (Rules 15, 21, 27, 31, and 55). These promulgated amendments were sent to the Legislature at the beginning of the legislative session in January of 2021 and will become effective as law on January 1, 2022, unless the Legislature decides otherwise.
