On December 12, 2020, the Council voted to promulgate amendments to five of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure (Rules 15, 21, 27, 31, and 55). These promulgated amendments were sent to the Legislature at the beginning of the legislative session in January of 2021 and will become effective as law on January 1, 2022,

On September 26, 2020, the Council on Court Procedures voted to publish for public comment proposed amendments to five Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure (Rule 15, Rule 21, Rule 27, Rule 31, and Rule 55). The Council is considering whether or not to promulgate these proposed amendments to the ORCP and is accepting public comment

Council members serve up to two 4-year terms, commencing in August of odd numbered years. Lawyer members are appointed by the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors. Council members also consider the potential need for amendments that may arise because of developments in case law, new Oregon statutes or federal legislation, innovations in technology,
